Luis Suarez is not being ruled out of Copa America Centenario despite
suffering a hamstring injury in Barcelona's Copa del Rey win on Sunday.
The Uruguay striker underwent a scan on the muscle and his club have
decided that he will stay with them through the month of May before
joining up with his country on June 1 ahead of Copa America.
There was real concern that Suarez would miss Copa America after he was hurt on Sunday. He had to come out of the match and his injury appeared very serious. That Barcelona haven't ruled out his participation in Copa America is good news.
It's unclear just how long his rehab will be and when Suarez might be available to play. If he is beginning the second phase of his rehab on June 1, it's tough to imagine him being ready for Uruguay's Copa America opener on June 5 against Mexico. He might even miss the entire group stage and be targeting a quarterfinal return.
